Star Swim Schools is established on the notion that water skills and safety are priceless life lessons for kids. Our commitment to offering a fun and developmentally befitting learn-to-swim ambiance will provide quality training sessions with significant results for your child.
We offer small group classes to get each student individual attention.
Small Group Classes
Star Swim Schools offers small group classes for a variety of ages. The classes are tailored to each student’s individual needs, and teachers get to know each child on a personal level. The smaller groups ensure that each child has a positive experience and that they’re not crowded.
Infants ages 6 months through 2 and a half years old can participate in our Parent/Infant class. These classes are designed to provide caregivers with an opportunity to bond with their babies while introducing them to swimming and water safety. In this class, students will learn how to float on their backs and belly, blow bubbles, and practice front crawl and jumping into the pool.
Children ages two and a half to five can join our Guppy group. In this class, students will learn how float independently on their front and back, kicking on their front for 5 yards to their instructor and practicing “crabby walks.”
This Mount Airy-based fitness center offers small group swim lessons. These 30-minute sessions are limited to three swimmers for optimal personal attention.
Younger children can also enjoy private lesson with an experienced instructor. This is ideal for children who are not comfortable in a large group setting or are shy about being around other kids.
Semi-private classes are available for children 4 to 16 years old. They are paired with another swimmer of their age and skill level and work together on learning to encourage one another, respect differences, listen to each other and cooperate in a group.
Adults can also choose a private lesson to learn water safety or improve their swimming skills. The instructor will make sure that you are comfortable with the water and that you have the proper equipment to enjoy the session.
Our instructors also offer a class for those with an established fear of the water. In this class, we will focus on encouraging the student to push through their fears and develop a more positive mindset about being in the water.
The British Swim School is dedicated to helping adults and children of all ages become more comfortable in the water. Their goal is to promote a safer, happier environment at the pool and in the community. Their nine-level progression covers all the fundamentals of the sport and helps students learn how to be more successful in the water. They’re aligned with the Safer 3 Water Safety Foundation, which helps to raise awareness about drowning prevention.

Individual Attention
At Star Swim Schools, our learn to swimming classes clyde are designed for small group sizes, allowing your child the opportunity to receive one-on-one instruction by expert swimming teachers. Many traditional swim schools cram too many students into a class, leaving no time for individual attention; this results in sloppy teaching and less-than-efficient learning for all students. This is why our learn-to-swim programs at Star Swim Schools offer progressive class levels that help your swimmer build skill on top of skill and develop a sense of accomplishment in the water.
